Following Scottish tradition, the sixth hole, the longest of the course (originally 557 yards), is named Longtom. The golfer’s tee shot must cross Miner Road and dogleg left onto the fairway. From the beginning, this has been the number-one handicap hole. Additional mounds and sand traps have been added around the green.
