The second hole was called Bonita, Spanish for beautiful. Originally the green was some 120 feet from front to back; a new bunker and green were constructed in 1932 with a sand trap at the right front. A periscope (click here to see picture) was installed in 1945 allowed the golfer to judge the distance of the players ahead prior to teeing off. The fairway slope has since been leveled to increase visibility and the periscope removed.
