The fourteenth hole, San Pablo, is bordered on the right by San Pablo Creek. Although this is a short hole, the narrow green and deep sand traps make it a tricky par four. During World War II, when military personnel stationed at St. Mary’s College leased Club memberships (before the pine trees along the creek had been planted), a Catholic chaplain scored an ace here. Fairway sand traps were added in 1989.
